To “Know” Is Not To Know!
Recently I conducted a teleseminar sharing the “4 Secrets to a Powerful Presence” and several clients, past and present, attended along with many others. Emails and calls poured in after the teleseminar, and there were two very different perspectives being shared that I found fascinating.
On this call, I shared that a “Powerful Presence” is about being present in your Essence and not carrying any past into this moment; nor, projecting a future on to this moment. And, as such, being available and alert for the wonder and possibilities this moment holds and making choices now that are creative and compelling.
Interestingly, a few of my clients shared that they thought this teleseminar was a “good refresher” for the things they’d learned from me over the past few years, and the minute they said that, I realized they hadn’t really “heard” what was being said on the call. In other words, they weren’t present for the call about being present.
If a person were present and focused, this call included some of the most ground-breaking, earth-shaking, cellular shifting information available today. But because they were listening from a place of “I already know this,” they couldn’t hear what was being said. If they had heard and if they had really stopped to understand with their hearts instead of screening out the message with their heads, their lives would have radically shifted on that call.
Not being present is the norm for many of us, which is why so many things in life are truly nutty. Because we “think” we know, we are not available for what the Now has to offer us. Because we think we know, we can’t see “what is” because we are carrying the false sense of “what was” and miss the transformational insights that could shape our lives in new, exciting ways. As a result, old habits have their way with us and create tired results again and again.
We’re not bad; we’re just unconscious. We’re not meaning to be disrespectful, we’re just unavailable! It’s not that we don’t want to be kind to one another, it’s just that there’s no one home at our house (we’re busy with our things to do list, yesterday’s news, tomorrow’s worries, etc.). Then we wonder why life is so full of struggle and suffer, so mundane and rote because we’re not there for it.
We all do this – including me! It’s how we’ve been conditioned. We have been taught to have the “right” answer from an early age. We tend to “glom on” to anything that sounds reasonable, and then we rationalize (tell rational lies) about that being “the way things are.” And, as a result, we have no clue how things are because we’re not there in the moment for what’s truly taking place.
If you want to be brilliant and have a vibrant life, STAY PRESENT! Einstein was one of the smartest people alive and made huge contributions to the well-being of our world because he stayed open, curious and in this moment from an empty place of not knowing. “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” He was available in each moment, and as a result , he had an incredible ability to see what very few others could see and was able to discover worlds of wonder that no one else has had access to.
If it worked for Einstein, it can work for you. The minute you think you know, stop and own that you don’t know and that you’re in the past, not in the present. Bring yourself present in this moment and begin again. This moment knows of things the past knows not of. This moment has miracles to offer you and magnificent wisdom to impart from your heart. You will not only have more fun, you will awaken to the aliveness that is present in you always…unearthed and un-accessed until NOW.
